Fun Fact: What achievements can softball coach Tracey Kee claim?

Tracey KeeThe Mean Green softball team is hot.

Its record is 17-7, including an 11-game winning streak earlier this season. The team’s new coach, Tracey Kee, knows about winning.

Which of the following accomplishments can Kee claim?

A. She's been to the NCAA softball tournament as a head coach four times.

B. She’s won four softball Coach of the Year awards.

C. She's won 700 games.

D. All of the above.

The answer is D. Kee has coached the East Carolina University softball team to the NCAA tournament four times, and she’s won softball Coach of the Year titles from both Conference USA and the Big South Conference. She earned her 700th victory March 9 as the Mean Green softball team sweeped Middle Tennesee State University, giving them a 3-0 record in Conference USA.

Kee arrived at UNT after coaching at East Carolina for 26 years.

The season’s remaining home games at Loveless Stadium are:

  • March 15 – University of Texas at San Antonio
  • March 16 – University of Texas at San Antonio
  • March 29 – University of Alabama - Birmingham
  • March 30 – University of Alabama – Birmingham
  • April 2 – Stephen F. Austin University
  • April 5 – Louisiana Tech University
  • April 16 – University of Texas at Arlington
  • May 3 – University of Tulsa
  • May 4 – University of Tulsa

The team will play the Conference USA Championships May 8 in Boca Rotan, Fla.
