UNT unveils holiday video, greeting card

Shauna Granger with the RawlinsesJunior biology major Shauna Granger’s image of the Hurley Administration Building graces the president’s holiday card, which is sent to the UNT community as well as alumni, donors, friends, peers, and local and state leaders.

The electronic holiday card is the annual end of the year message in which the university highlights Mean Green pride, spreads goodwill and celebrates the holiday season. This year’s version features a video in which members of the UNT community each say what UNT means to them.

The card is distributed primarily through email and is featured on the president’s website and on the University of North Texas YouTube channel.

Granger won the President’s annual holiday card design contest with her design of the building in black and white surrounded by red and green holiday ornaments. Her design is featured in print and electronic versions of the holiday card

President and Mrs. V. Lane Rawlins honored Granger and the second- and third-place winners at a reception Dec. 2. The top three students earned cash prizes.

Winners are:

  • First-place – Shauna Granger, $250
  • Second-place – Beatriz Gomez, $150
  • Third-place – Gwendolyn Coney, $100

Enter to win a UNT tree ornament by sending an email to InHouse with “Holiday Card” in the subject line by 5 p.m. Dec. 11. Winners will be selected at random from all responses.

The 2013 commemorative holiday ornament features the university seal located at the southwest entrance to campus. Green and white, and trimmed in 24-carat gold, the ornament includes a custom gift box dated 2013.

A portion of the proceeds benefit the UNT Alumni Association’s scholarship fund.
