UNT-International announces three grant opportunities

UNT-International announces three intramural grants to support global research, academic, and outreach initiatives. Funding for these grant opportunities is offered by the UNT Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Each linked RFP includes full details on eligibility, available funds, and award amounts.
 
China Venture Fund Deadline: March 1, 2016

Supports UNT’s strategic priorities with China through large-scale projects and initiatives.
        •    Eligibility: UNT faculty and lecturers
        •    Estimated Award Range: $9,000 to $18,000 (1 to 2 awards)
 
India Venture Fund Deadline: March 10, 2016

Supports UNT’s strategic engagements with India in the following priority areas: student engagement, research engagement, local community engagement, and marketing
        •    Eligibility: UNT faculty and lecturers
        •    Estimated Award Range: $3,000 to $18,000 (1 to 6 awards)
 
Incentives for Global Research Opportunities (I-GRO) Deadline: April 1, 2016

Promotes high quality, mutually beneficial global research collaborations
        Global Start-Up: Encourages tenure-track faculty in their first three years at UNT to incorporate international collaboration and global dimensions into their research and creative activities
        •    Award Range: $500 to $5,000
        •    Eligibility: Junior tenure-track faculty within their first three (3) years
 
        GAMES (Global Advising & Mentoring Experiences for Students): Supports graduate students in highly mentored global research and education experiences leading to global collaboration in their careers.
        •    Award Range: $300 to $3,500
        •    Eligibility: UNT tenured or tenure-track faculty (submitting in support of a UNT graduate student or submitting in support of hosting an international graduate student at UNT).
 
        Global Discovery: Supports research-active faculty to engage in innovative collaborations with global partners.
        •    Award Range: $500 to $15,000
        •    Eligibility: UNT tenured or tenure-track faculty or research appointments
 
EAGLES Abroad in Africa Deadline: March 1, 2016 and May 1, 2016

EAGLES (ENHANCING AWARENESS FOR GLOBAL LEADERSHIP IN ENGINEERING, ARTS, & SCIENCES) Abroad in Africa provides global research experiences for UNT degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students interested in undertaking focused and highly mentored research experiences in Africa of mutua interest to UNT faculty and the faculty mentor in Africa.
        •    Eligibility: UNT tenured or tenure-track faculty (submitting in support of a UNT undergraduate or graduate student)
        •    Estimated Award: $2,500 (maximum) (6 awards)
        •    March 1 Deadline: Undergraduate Study Abroad + EAGLES Abroad in Africa option
        •    May 1 Deadline: all other EAGLES Abroad in Africa proposals
