UNT Career Center names director

Bonita VinsonBonita Vinson, left, has been named director of the UNT Career Center, which provides students and alumni with job search and career development skills from student jobs on campus to internships to post-graduate careers to mid-life career changes.

“I’m privileged to join the UNT Career Center team at such an exciting time,” she said. “I consider it an honor to lead an outstanding team of professionals who assist students in the discovery of their career paths and into exciting careers.”

Her job at the Career Center will be to provide overall leadership and management in the areas on budgeting, staff supervision, strategic planning and goal setting, developing and following policies and procedures, and developing programming.

Vinson received a bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology from Mississippi State University in 1992, a master’s degree in Counselor Education from Louisiana State University in 1994 and a doctoral degree in Education Administration from Texas A&M in 2006. She has worked as an assistant director at Tulane University and Texas State University, a Career Services director at Texas Lutheran University and director of Dallas Education Center at LeTourneau University.
