University Day events planned for April 17

University Day 2015 will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 17 on the Library Mall.

First held May 10, 1961, when North Texas State College became North Texas State University, this spring event includes a free food, music, activities and a celebration of UNT’s founding. A flag parade of student organizations will begin at 11 a.m., winding from Sycamore Hall, in front of the Hurley Administration Building to the Library Mall.

Registered student organizations and university departments can participate by:

  • Hosting a table during the event, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Participating in the Flag Parade prior to the event, from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

University Day table and flag parade sign up is due on Orgsync by 5 p.m. April 3, or as soon as tables fill up, whichever happens first.

Faculty members, staff members and students can volunteer at the event in a variety of roles.

Sign-ups close on Orgsync at 5 p.m. April 3 or as soon as shifts fill up, whichever happens first.
