Union Fest planned for March 11

The University Union is hosting the annual Union Fest celebration at beginning at 8 a.m. March 11.

The tradition of Union Fest began in 1976 with the completion of the renovated Union. Staff and employees spend weeks planning the celebration.  They line up vendors, activities and giveaways to make sure it’s an epic celebration of the Union that the entire campus can enjoy. This year marks the 39th celebration and is special as it is the last Union Fest before the new facility is open. While the Union has been under renovation, the celebration has taken place in the Library Mall, but will move back into the building next year upon its completion.

Wells Fargo will provide free coffee and coffee cake in the Stovall Temporary Union Building beginning at 8 a.m. The main event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Library Mall. The official ceremony with remarks from UNT leaders starts at approximately 11:15 a.m. As usual, there will be food and other giveaways from various companies as well as UNT departments typically housed in the Union.

There will also be exciting activities and games for students such as:

  • Henna tattoos
  • Photo booth
  • Bunjee jump
  • Criss-cross obstacle course

During the celebration the NTDJs will be proving music and, of course, there will be the traditional Union Fest cake that students look forward to every year!
