Two public administration doctoral students earn recognition

Two doctoral students in the public administration program received awards at the 2013 American Society for Public Administration conference.

Kyujin Jung received the Donald and Alice Stone award for the best graduate paper from American Society for Public Administration’s Section on Intergovernmental Administration and Management. He is the first UNT student to win the award.  His paper is entitled “Sources of Regional Resiliency: A Test of Bonding and Bridging Effects.”

Doctoral student David Wachira was selected as one of 40 new employees by the World Bank where he will assume duties on Sept. 1 as a public sector specialist in public finance.

He was selected from a pool of 8,300 applicants - no, that is not a misprint.

Both of these accomplishments reflect the exceptional quality of students in the PhD program.  We are very proud and pleased by these accomplishments and the prospects for continued exemplary achievements in the future by all of our doctoral students.
