Training and development classes added to June schedule

(Editor's Note: June training sessions filled quickly. If you are wait-listed, or want to enroll in an additional class, go to the registration page to log in, search and enroll in training. Human Resources’ Training and Development staff offers a variety of free classes to enhance personal and professional skills of faculty and staff.

Featured June classes include:

Texa$aver 457 Overview, 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Wednesday, June 1 in Chilton 245 and Discovery Park B155.  This session will help participants learn the benefits of a qualified savings plan, the basic differences between a 457 and a 403(b) retirement program, and steps to get your savings on track.  Opportunities to meet one-on-one with the Texa$aver representative will follow the 30 minute presentation.  Presented by Texa$aver.

Building a Portfolio for Any Weather, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 8 in Chilton 245.  This session will help participants learn the principles of asset allocation, determine estimated need in retirement, and understand the value of diversification including risk/return.  Participants will learn the principles of building an investment strategy and the differences between asset classes.  Presented by Fidelity.

* These classes are skills certification classes designed to develop leaders, and are part of the manager and supervisory skills certification program.
