Tickets available for UNT-SMU game

Mean Green = SMU game from 2014

The Mean Green football team opens the 2015 season against Southern Methodist University at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas.

UNT won last year’s game43-6 at Apogee Stadium, making it the Mean Green’s second win in the last three meetings between the two teams.

Mean Green fans are encouraged to flood Dallas and Ford Stadium with a sea of green to extend the celebration of UNT’s 125th anniversary to the weekend’s events and game.

Reserved seating for Mean Green fans will cost $35.

Tailgate packages also are available and include:

  • Two game tickets
  • Two tailgate passes
  • Two game day t-shirts (distributed at tailgate)
  • Mean Green Club Membership at Spiriki Level

The packages cost $95 for game tickets in the upper bowl and $135 for game tickets in the lower bowl.


Not wanting to battle Dallas traffic? The Denton County Transportation Authority offers the A-Train and connects with DART.

Parking is extremely limited on the SMU campus. There will be cash parking areas on campus and free parking on the east side of Central Expressway.

Tailgating and pregame celebration

For those wanting to tailgate, the Mean Green Club will host a North Texas Tailgate in the heart of the SMU campus. There will be a cash bar, live entertainment by Kody West and a barbeque meal from Sonny Bryan’s Smoke House.

  • $20 for Mean Green Club and Alumni Association members if pre-registered prior to event day.
  • $30 on game day at the event for all guests who attend.

On the night before the game, the UNT Alumni Association is hosting a free Mean Green alumni rally. That event is planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Four Corners Brewery in Dallas

All season

In order to secure seats to cheer on the Mean Green for all five home games in 2015, faculty and staff members can buy season tickets online starting at $62 for reserved seating.
