Bush book Decision PointsSince his term ended, President Bush has not publicly discussed his presidency. He has spent almost every day writing the memoir Decision Points, said representatives of Crown Publishers when the book's publication date was announced in April.

The memoir discusses the contested 2000 election, events of 9/11, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the financial crisis, Hurricane Katrina, Iran and other issues during Bush's presidency. Bush's book also discusses personal issues, faith and family relationships.

The Distinguished Lecture Series is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs. Its purpose is to introduce the university community to world-class speakers whose messages enhance student learning outside the classroom.

Previous speakers have included financial advisor Suze Orman, environmental activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., science ambassador Bill Nye and former president of Mexico Vicente Fox.
