Spring music classes for children to begin Feb. 20

The Early Childhood Music Program for children continues for children ranging from birth through 7 years. The classes are provided thought music education department in the College of Music. Sessions, in which parents and guardians participate in the sessions with their children, will help experience musical learning through play.

All classes include songs, chants, movement in instrument exploration, but classes differ according to age levels and the readiness of the children.

Classes will be held Fridays and Saturdays starting Feb. 20 in room 115 on the College of Music Annex. Registration is preferred by Feb. 13, but participants will be accepted as long as space allows.

Classes and costs are as follows:

Friday classes

Starts Feb. 20 and ends May 1 (10 weeks, no class during UNT’s Spring Break, March 20)

  • Infant (birth to 24 months) 8:30 to 9 a.m. - $150
  • Infant (birth to 24 months) 9:10 to 9:40 a.m. - $150
  • Nursery (25 months to 48 months) 9:50 to 10:30 a.m. - $170
  • Multi-age (birth to 5 years) 10:40 to 11:20 a.m. - $170

Saturday classes

Starts Feb. 21 and ends May 2 (10 weeks, no class during UNT’s Spring Break, March 21)

  • Infant (birth to 24 months) 8:30 to 9 a.m. - $150
  • Infant (birth to 24 months) 9:10 am to 9:40 a.m. - $150
  • Nursery (25 months to 48 months) 9:50 to 10:30 a.m. - $170
  • Multi-age (birth to 5 years) 10:40 to 11:20 a.m. - $170
  • Preschool (3 1/2 to 5 years) 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. - $170
  • Elementary (5 to 7 years) 12:20 to 1 p.m. - $170

Friday sessions require paid parking, available for $2 an hour in the Highland Street Parking Garage. Saturday parking in free in Lot 26 across from the annex.

Additional children may attend at a 10 percent discount and an adult must be present for each child.
