Spring 2011 Early Childhood Music Program registration open

Newborn infants to 5-year-olds can learn to “speak music” in early childhood music classes offered this spring in UNT's College of Music.

The program helps children build a strong musical foundation, says Heidi Scheibmeir, head teacher of the early childhood music program at the College of Music. Children use trampolines, scarves, drumsticks and more to learn about music in the classes, which are offered every fall, spring and summer semester.

Enrollment is now open for spring classes, held on Saturdays from Feb. 5 through April 16. (No classes will be held March 19 during spring break week.) Classes are $120 for infants from birth to 24 months and $140 for children from 25 months to 5 years. A 10 percent discount is offered for each additional child enrolled in a family. The preferred application deadline is Feb. 1.

  • Nursery (25 months to 48 months): 9:45 - 10:25 a.m.
