Register official travel with UNT-International

On May 1, the U.S. Department of State issued a modified World Wide Travel Alert which is in effect through Aug. 1

As many members of our community travel internationally on official university activities during the summer months we would like to remind all those traveling abroad to do the following:

  • Register all international official university travel with UNT-International through the online UNT-I Traveler” system.
  • Travel should be registered no less than two weeks prior to departure.
  • Global Learning and Experience will register all students on these programs who are traveling abroad this summer in the UNT-I Traveler system if they have not already done so.
  • Students traveling on a UNT program which is not coordinated through global learning should register their travel in the UNT-I Traveler system.
  • Register all international travel, personal or university, with the U.S. Department of State via their online Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, or STEP.
  • All members of the university community should register their travel in STEP.

As the new alert states, “given the uncertainty and volatility of the current situation, U.S. citizens in areas where recent events could cause anti-American violence are strongly urged to limit travel outside of their homes and hotels, and avoid mass gatherings and demonstrations. U.S. citizens should stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times.”
