Project Resourcing function live

May 31, 2016

Dear faculty, researchers and staff,

We are pleased to announce that the new Project Resourcing functionality in PeopleSoft 9.2 is live today, Tuesday, May 31, 2016, for Sponsored Projects (externally funded activities with a designated principal investigator). Additionally, the corresponding Sponsored Project Reporting in Cognos is ready for your use and accessible through your component report portal. This new functionality and Cognos reports are building upon the strengths of the PeopleSoft Finance 9.2 environment.

We want to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for your patience as we worked through the planned go-live of Project Resourcing and the corresponding Sponsored Project Reporting. We realize the adjustment period after any major implementation is challenging for everyone and your continual work to help improve the system is essential for our continued success.

A special thanks goes to UNT’s and UNTHSC’s Grant & Contract Administration Offices, UNT’s Data, Analytics & Institutional Research Office, Budget Offices and the System’s IT Shared Services, Unified Controller and Financial Reporting teams for working together to create this enhanced capability in PeopleSoft 9.2 as part of the system-wide Financial Improvement Transition program.

Until future webpages are built to address training and specific Cognos related issues, a special website has been created off of the main Financial Improvement Transition webpage to help users with resources and updates related to reporting. We uploaded a comprehensive “how-to” guide to help you get started until training classes begin for using the reports. This guide also will be updated as changes occur. The site includes contact information to help assist with questions about either the new Chart of Accounts or the reports.

With the Financial Improvement Transition program, the UNT System is investing in our people and key information systems to address the ever-increasing demands for effective and superior financial reporting. Please watch for future updates to these reports as new features are added.

Best Regards,

Janet Waldron
Vice Chancellor for Finance
