Post office changes delivery schedule

The United States Postal Service continues to adjust to changes in mail volume and its work force.

On Jan. 10, the delivery processing time for local first-class mail changed from overnight to two-day. Local first-class mail is mail originating from and destined for the Dallas-Fort Worth area and surrounding counties. For example, mail that leaves the Denton campus to these destinations on Monday now will be delivered on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

Also, the delivery time for first-class mail destined for out of state will change from two- or three days to three-to-five days. Please consider this when you plan your events that are date-sensitive.

The changes do not affect the delivery schedule of packages, medications or Priority/Priority Express mail.

Thank you,
