New council to replace President’s Enrollment and Retention Council

President V. Lane RawlinsDear UNT community,

The President’s Enrollment and Retention Council (PERC), made up of administrators, faculty and staff, has been working throughout the past two years on critical enrollment planning issues.

We have made great progress and we can now move to a council more focused on operations. Therefore, we are dissolving the PERC and creating a new council called the President’s Enrollment Administrative Council. This council is charged with accomplishing the vision and goals defined by the PERC.

The new enrollment council is intentionally designed with limited membership to allow the group to work quickly and collaboratively and make the necessary decisions. Membership includes:

  • Co-chair: Elizabeth With, Vice President for Student Affairs
  • Co-chair: Yolanda Flores-Niemann, Senior Vice Provost
  • Warren Burggren, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
  • Jean Bush, Senior Associate Vice President for Finance
  • Geoff Gamble, Vice President for Research and Economic Development
  • Gilda Garcia, Vice President for Institutional Equity and Diversity
  • Deborah Leliaert, Vice President for University Relations, Communications and Marketing

I have asked the council to create two committees:

  1. The Enrollment Assessment Committee, which will create and use predictive enrollment models and set budget forecasts as well as assess the progress toward our goals. This group will be expected to make recommendations that will have an immediate impact on our enrollment numbers.
  2. The Retention Management Committee, which will evaluate and improve our retention strategies and metrics. This group will be expected to make recommendations for assigning and facilitating the work needed to increase the retention of our students.

I hope all of you will join me in doing what you can to support these efforts.

V. Lane Rawlins
