Mean Green open 2010 football season at Clemson University

(Editor's Note, Sept. 5: The Mean Green played tough, but were defeated by Clemson, 35-10. Learn more about the game and find comments by Head Coach Todd Dodge.)

The Mean Green launch the 2010 football season with a 2:30 p.m. Sept. 4 game versus Clemson University at Clemson, S.C.  

Watch the game in the University Union at The Syndicate or on TVs located throughout the union. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU cable network and on the Mean Green Radio Network.

Join alumni and other fans at a game-watching party hosted by the UNT Alumni Association. The gathering will be in the Fox and Hound restaurant, 1640 S. Stemmons Freeway, Lewisville.

Game watching is open to all fans, UNT alumni, family and friends; RSVP.

Get ready to cheer the Mean Green at the first home game versus Rice University at 6 p.m. Sept. 11. Enter to win a UNT T-shirt and water bottle by sending an e-mail to with “Home Game” in the subject line by 5 p.m. Sept. 3. Winners will be selected at random from all responses.

The Rice gaFouts Field Finale midsizeme begins the final season for venerable Fouts Field, which will be replaced by the Football Stadium at Mean Green Village in 2011. The next home game will be 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 versus Louisiana-Lafayette.
