Mean Green Circus planned Nov. 7-8

Homecoming logoThe 2014 Homecoming theme, “Mean Green Circus: The Greatest Homecoming on Earth,” was announced Sept. 6 during the football team’s 43-6 win over Southern Methodist University at Apogee Stadium.

Homecoming is planned for Nov. 7-8, with activities for alumni going on all week.

The traditional spirit march and bonfire are planned for Nov. 7, while a parade, a fun run and the Homecoming football game against Conference USA opponent Florida Atlantic University are planned for Nov. 8. Tickets start at $15.

Other Homecoming events include a reunion of the Class of 1964, an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for UNT’s new Greek Life Center and more.

Need some Mean Green to help get in the Homecoming spirit? Enter to win a spirit pack, complete with a UNT-branded T-shirt, water bottle, tote bag and more. Send an email to InHouse with “Mean Green Circus” in the subject line by 5 p.m. Sept. 14. Winners will be chosen at random from all responses.

Homecoming tailgate tents

Reserve your tailgate tent at Apogee Stadium for the annual Homecoming festivities hosted on Nov. 8.

The packages including tickets, tents, tables and chairs are available for alumni groups, campus organizations, departments, schools and colleges that plan to host tailgate functions near Apogee Stadium before the Homecoming game.  There are several packages to choose from:         

  • A 10-foot by 20-foot tent includes three 8-foot tables, 20 chairs, one parking pass and 10 tickets is $500 for general admission and $650 for reserved ticket.
  • A 20-foot by 20-foot tent includes six 8-foot tables, 40 chairs, two parking passes and 20 tickets is $750 for general admission and $1,000 for reserved tickets.
  • A 30-foot by 30-foot tent includes ten 8-foot tables, 60 chairs, three parking passes and 30 tickets is $1,100 for general admission and $1,400 for reserved tickets.

To reserve your Homecoming tailgate tent, email the athletics ticket office or call 940-369-5382.  The reservation deadline is Oct. 24. Student organizations reservations are made through Student Affairs.

Follow the Mean Green all season

Don’t wait until Homecoming to follow the Mean Green.

The football team is 1-1 after a 43-6 win over Southern Methodist University on Sept. 6. UNT faces Louisiana Tech University in a Conference USA showdown at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at Apogee Stadium.

Then UNT faces Nichols State at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Apogee. Enter to win tickets to the Sept. 20 game against Nichols State. Send an email to InHouse with “Beat Nichols State” in the subject line by 5 p.m. Sept. 14. Winners will be chosen at random from all responses.
