Three sessions designed to help parents

Off-Campus Student Services has scheduled a series of presentations for employees and students with children. The brown-bag lunch sessions are from noon to 1 p.m. in the Stovall Temporary Union Building, room 122F.

Topics include:

  • Jan. 29 —Bullying-How to deal with it! Learn characteristics of bullying, different types of it and how to handle it in the school-age and preschool settings.  What are the parents’, teachers’ and students’ roles. Learn three ways parents can fight bullying.
  • Feb. 23 — Helping your child manage stress: Identify the causes, signs, and symptoms of childhood stress. Learn relaxation techniques for helping your child cope with challenges and pressure.
  • April 4 — Summer fun choices for your child: Need a program for your child before school, after school, during the summer, on the weekend and during holiday breaks? We will discuss resources and choices for parents that promote academic improvement, social development, and mental health support.
