Library plans International Games Day event

In the 21st Century, libraries are about more than just books. The goal of the American Library Association’s International Games Day is to reconnect communities through their libraries around the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games.

International Games Day will be celebrated Nov. 16 with open video and board gaming at the UNT Media Library from 1-7 p.m. Older games will be accessible and the following new games will be featured: Diablo III (PS3), Call of Duty: Ghost (Xbox), FIFA 14 (Xbox), Rayman Legends (Wii), Betrayal at the House on the Hill (Tabletop game), and Guillotine (Card game). We will also be participating in a Global Gossip game that will circle the world.

The event will kick off with a screening of the film "Indie Game" from 1-3 p.m. "Indie Game" looks at the underdogs of the video game industry, indie game developers, and follows the making of the games Super Meat Boy, Fez and Braid.

Food and drink will be provided.
