LGBT committee to hold mentoring meeting

Marilyn Morris, associate professor of history, and Mark Vosvick, associate professor of psychology, will host the first LGBT faculty mentoring network reception from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 12 at Vosvick’s home, 2000 Tremont Circle in Denton.

The Faculty Senate’s Committee on the Status of LGBT faculty received a mentoring grant from the provost’s office to develop a network for faculty who identify as a sexual or gender minority. The committee intends to provide a collegial venue for colleagues to meet anddiscuss issues about promotion and tenure, research interests, experiences of discrimination and general issues relevant to faculty members.

The event will help Morris and Vosvick learn what faculty members would like this network to be so they can develop programming.

Light hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine will be served.
