Journalism grammar, spelling, punctuation test pass rate soars

Hats off to Sarah Whyman, a UNT Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism alumna who now works part-time as the grammar, spelling and punctuation coordinator and tutor.

Thanks to her diligence and dedication, 98 percent of students who took the GSP test passed it last fall.  Passing the test is a requirement before journalism students can take upper level journalism classes.

Also, thanks to Sheri Broyles, principal lecturer Nann Goplerud and administrative assistant Cathy Turner for their work related to overhauling the test and process while maintaining rigor for students.
