Jack Miller, retired professor of education

Jack Miller, former associate professor in the College of Education, recently passed away. Jack Miller

In 1970, he took a position at UNT teaching in the Department of Technology and Cognition. He retired from teaching in 1997 after 27 years of service.

He taught high school in Halletsville, Texas, and later became a high school principal in Bertram, Texas. He also taught at Texas A&M at Kingsville, then Texas A&I. He served as a principal at the OU Lab School while he was working on his doctoral degree then began teaching at Baylor University for four years.

Miller served in the United States Army after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. Completing his service in 1955, he went back to the University of Texas in Austin for his Master’s Degree in Education Administration. He soon enrolled in the doctoral program at the University of Oklahoma where he received his doctoral degree in 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Morelle, four children and six grandchildren.
