Innovation Greenhouse to host music hackathon Sept. 13-15

Innovation Greenhouse will host a North Texas music hackathon beginning at 6 p.m. on Sept. 13 at Sycamore Hall, Room 119.

The hackathon, which will last through Sept. 15, aims to bring together anyone interested in unique music applications, including designers, developers, programmers, industry experts and musicians.

The event is open to the public, and registration is required. Registration is $25 for UNT students and $45 for UNT faculty and the general public. Registration fees cover three days of food and refreshments from various Denton restaurants.

“The music hackathon will give area musicians confidence and help them learn how to share their creativity in a major way at a minor cost,” Hong said. “Hackathons are about coming together as a community to share experiences and solve problems.”

Industry insiders, including investors, publicists, copyright experts and entrepreneurs will be on hand at the event to give lectures and brainstorm ideas with attendees.

Several Denton bands will perform at the event. Bands will include Offworld, AMP Trio and Bashe.
