Immigration sociology scholar to discuss Jewish diaspora

Remennick is professor of sociology at Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel.

Remennick, a native of Moscow, researches the former Soviet immigrations to Israel and the Russian Jewish immigration of the 1990s. She studies the integration patterns of Russian-speaking Jews in Israel and in the Western countries, and the formation of the global Russian-Jewish diaspora.

She is the author of five books, including Continents: Identity, Integration and Conflict. Remennick is a graduate of Moscow’s Institute of Sociology in the Academy of Sciences, and completed post-doctoral work at Oxford University.
