"I stand in awe of the military personnel who planned and executed the attack." Rawlins says.

May 2, 2011

Dear UNT community,

The death of Osama bin Laden marks what many of us hope will be the permanent end to a reign of terror that affected people of so many countries and backgrounds. Many have been deeply scarred by his actions over the years, especially the families of those lost on 9/11 and those who have been victims of the many other acts of terror around the globe.

It is a good time to reiterate how much we appreciate the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women in the military who have fought to secure peace and safety. I stand in awe of the military personnel who planned and executed the attack.

Let us hope that this long-awaited step will heal divisions and move us closer to peace for everyone.

V. Lane Rawlins
