Green Pride contest winners named; more prizes coming in spring

The Green Pride program launched this fall and we were astonished by the amount of student, faculty, and staff pride and participation. There were more than 4,000 responses to Facebook postings, contests or other opportunities to demonstrate pride in the university - and win prizes.

Chris Forasiepi, below left, a junior pre-psychology major, won the iPad 2 grand prize, Logan Widick, below right, a freshman pre-informatioin technology won a $50 Pizza Inn gift card for the most pride points for students, and Christi Michelle Swarb, won an iPad2 for the staff and faculty photo contest. We had lots of fun this semester and are currently getting in gear for the spring.

For those of you who didn’t participate we want to encourage you to show your Green Pride next semester by wearing green on Fridays and show the students how it’s done.

It's not too late to enjoy some end-of-semester Green Pride: Send an email to InHouse with "Bag and Bottle" in the subject line by 5 p.m. Dec. 16. Winners will be selected at random from all responses.

Make sure you watch the InHouse website for more staff and faculty green pride events coming in spring 2012.

You are the heartbeat of our university, daily impacting student’s lives.  We are honored and thankful to have you be faculty and staff at UNT.

Thank you on behalf of the Green Pride Team for showing your Green Pride through your service to the university and students. - Rolando Rivas, director of graphic brand management
