Green Pride contest winner goes green everywhere, every day

Christi Swarb, center, Green Pride contest winner, Dean of Students OfficeChristi Michelle Swarb, new student programs in the Division of Student Affairs, won this year’s Faculty/Staff Green Pride contest and took home a brand new iPad2. Above, Christi, surrounded by office colleagues n the Dean of Students office; below, with Rolando Rivas, director of Graphic Brand Management.

According to Christi, her randomly-selected winning photo and statement “We define Green” stems from “supporting UNT wherever you are.” Her encouragement for students, faculty, and staff is to “participate in the activities that are offered on this campus because it’s a great way to meet people and learn more about the spirit and traditions at UNT.”

Faculty and staff took the Green Pride challenge and gave students a run for their money. With an iPad2 as the grand prize, staff and faculty participated in a two week “I ____ Green” contest. Participants were asked to fill in the blank with a word or statement that demonstrated their UNT pride. Creativity was off the charts with nearly 100 submissions. The winner was selected at random from all responses.

Green Pride knows no end, faculty and staff are encouraged to continue to show their UNT Pride by wearing green every Friday and showing their spirit for the Mean Green nation.

In fact, you can enter to win a UNT T-shirt by sending an email to InHouse by 5 p.m. Nov. 11 with "Green Pride" in the subject line. Winners will be selected at random from all responses.

Congratualtions to Christi and thanks to everyone who participated for showing why they are “Proud to be Green.” -Rolando Rivas, director, Graphic Brand Management
