Graduate students meet with Perry at Austin seminar

The Department of Public Administration sponsors an Austin Seminar once a year for students to learn about the impact of state government on municipalities.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, below, left, met with students in the class May 16. The governor spoke extensively on the functions of government and the importance of government to create an atmosphere favorable to business. His comments were related to economic development including the new Formula 1 racing that will come to the city of Austin.

One student noted “I actually gained a better impression of him during the week.  He talked about the function of government and he is very sincere about his beliefs. I also appreciated how much time he spent with our class.”

The seminar supports UNT's goal to provide superior graduate education.
