Global learning ads, materials capture marketing award

Global Learning window ads(Editor's Note: The campaign is a winner! UNT-International received the GoAbroad Innovation in Marketing award at the international conference.)

Promotional materials for the Global Learning and Experience Center are among finalists for GoAbroad Innovation in Marketing award.

The awards are sponsored by GoAbroad.com,  a resource for international education and travel. Winners will be announced June 2.

“Our division hasn’t had a cohesive marketing campaign, ever,” explained media coordinator Dani Nicholson.  “This campaign was really a reformatting and streamlining all of GLE’s communication.”

The global learning program is part of UNT-International.

The new campaign includes graphic design and color elements for print and electronic materials, and includes life-size vinyl window clings that are beginning to pop up around campus.

The clings feature six study abroad veterans posing in front of striking pictures of the countries in which they studied.  “The selection of students is mostly based on the types of programs they did, because they did such radically different things,” said Nicholson. “We have so many different types of programs; we wanted to give a taste of the variety.”

Clings are displayed in Sycamore Hall, left, and the Art Building. Nicholson said the remaining four will be put up around campus in high traffic areas. 

“It will be great to win, since we’ll get recognition,” said Mary Beth Butler, UNT-International director of communications. “But what we really want is to intrigue people. We want to get the word out about studying abroad.”
