Expect heavy traffic due to high school commencement ceremonies

May 26, 2016

Traffic around the UNT Coliseum will be busier than usual from Thursday, May 26 until Wednesday, June 8 for high school commencement ceremonies. Most ceremonies will be held in the late afternoon or early evening.

Traffic is expected to be especially heavy during the larger ceremonies, including Denton ISD on Friday, June 3; Carrollton ISD on Saturday, June 4; Lewisville ISD on Sunday and Monday, June 5 and 6; Northwest ISD on Tuesday, June 7; and Coppell ISD on Wednesday, June 8.

UNT faculty, staff and students should consider alternate travel routes and be prepared for heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic around the Coliseum and on Avenue C.

When entering and leaving campus, please consider alternate routes and avoid North Texas Boulevard and Eagle Drive, if possible. Alternatives include Fort Worth Drive and West Oak Street.
