Educational administration program to host leadership journal

The University Council for Educational Administration, UCEA, awarded the Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership to the educational administration program in the College of Education. The journal publishes in electronic format peer-reviewed cases for use in programs that prepare educational leaders.

This is the first time that the administration program at UNT has hosted an academic journal. Some faculty members will serve on the editorial board of the journal and get the opportunity to contribute articles for publication.

Richard Fossey, The Dr. Mike Moses Endowed Chair in Educational Administration, will serve as editor for the journal and Jimmy Byrd, assistant professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Administration, will serve as associate editor with Suzanne Eckes, associate professor at Indiana University. The journal is currently housed at Indiana University, and Byrd will work with Eckes to transition the journal to UNT.

Fossey said, “It’s an honor to edit this journal and have it housed in our program. It’s evidence of UCEA’s confidence in the scholars of UNT.”
