Crews will be busy sprucing up campus during break

parking garage near Business Leadership BuildingMonday, March 14 is a holiday for faculty and staff, and the week of March 14-18 is Spring Break for students. But holidays are often the busiest time for Facilities, the division which includes building and grounds maintenance and construction. Above, construction continues on the parking garage adjacent to the Business Leadership Building.

While students are away and the human and vehicular traffic on campus slows, Facilities will be involved with these projects:

Construction Crew

Projects at the Art Building, Chilton Hall, General Academics Building and the Gateway Center. These projects include painting and replacing lights, installing weather strip barriers, remodeling space, installing carpets and electrical outlets, painting and patching.

Painting

Members of the Paint crew will be painting in the Auditorium, Hickory Hall, Ken Bahnsen Gym, and power plant.

Structural Services

The Structural Services crew will be working in the Chemistry Building, General Academic Building, Speech Building, and the Information Sciences Building. They will also be working with the paint crew in Chilton Hall.

Door Systems

The Door Systems crew will be installing E-Locking systems in Wooten Hall.

Additional activities include the SMART energy project, and other miscellaneous projects supervised by Facilities and performed by contractors.
