Commencement set for Aug. 8-9

More than 1,800 students are expected to receive degrees from the University of North Texas this summer. Commencement ceremonies are set for Aug. 8-9 in the Coliseum.

The ceremony for doctoral and master's degree candidates will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 8, and undergraduate commencement ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 9. This summer, 1,221 undergraduate students, 449 master's students and 132 doctoral students applied for graduation.

The undergraduate ceremony at 9 a.m. Aug. 9 will feature graduates from:

  • College of Business
  • College of Education
  • College of Information
  • Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism
  • College of Music
  • College of Public Affairs and Community Service
  • College of Visual Arts and Design

The undergraduate ceremony at 1 p.m. Aug. 9 will feature graduates from:

  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Engineering
  • College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism

Graduates and their guests are invited to commencement receptions. The reception on Aug. 8 will take place from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for doctoral and master's degree candidates. The reception on Aug.9 will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for all the undergraduate candidates. Both receptions will be at the Gateway Center Ballroom, adjacent to the Coliseum.
