Christy Crutsinger to serve as interim vice provost for academic affairs

Christy CrutsingerAs you know, the Division of Academic Affairs and Office of the Provost is undergoing a restructuring. The adjustments are intended to make the division more organizationally efficient and effective and to best position it for change under a future, permanent provost and academic vice president.

I am pleased to announce that Christy Crutsinger will serve as UNT’s interim vice provost for academic affairs effective immediately. Crutsinger currently serves as vice provost for faculty success.

In addition to her current duties leading faculty success, Crutsinger will assume oversight responsibilities in other key areas, including student success and retention, academic outreach and supplementary education. She will bring to this new interim vice provost position the same deep commitment to faculty, institutional knowledge, work ethic and overall sound leadership that’s made her other endeavors so successful.

Prior to serving as vice provost for Faculty Success, Crutsinger served as the faculty special assistant to the provost, while also serving as associate dean and professor of merchandising in the now College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism. She also served her college as chair of the merchandising department, and under her leadership the department received the American Textile Manufacturers Institute’s Award for Excellence for exemplary and innovative programs, including the nation’s first 100 percent web-based graduate merchandising degree.

Finley GravesI hope you will support Crutsinger as she undertakes her additional duties and helps our university shape a more versatile and responsive academic enterprise.

Sincerely,

Finley Graves

Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
