Bring your Mean Green spirit to the Super Pit

Chris Jones, Mean Green basketball, 2011The hard working student- athletes representing the university on the basketball court will be busy, busy during winter break, Dec. 24-Jan. 1, when most faculty and staff will be on holiday.

Help the teams feel at home by wearing your Mean Green gear (Be sure to tell Santa your size), and attending a game.

Even better, bring your department or division co-workers, neighbors, school mates, Sunday School class or any group of fans to a home game during the break or the season.

Mean Green Athletics offers group packages that include 50 seats, catering, pre-game talk from assistant coaches, public address and video board recognition.

The men play at the Super Pit for six consecutive games  beginning Dec. 18, including three during winter break. The women play two home games during winter break, both versus Sun Belt Conference teams. Games are scheduled:

  • Dec. 18 – men versus Jackson State, 7 p.m. 
  • Dec. 20 – men versus Grambling State, 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 22 – men versus LSU, 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 27 – men versus New Orleans, 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 28 - women versus defending Sun Belt Conference champion University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 29 - men versus Sun Belt Conference tournament champion University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 7 p.m.
  • Dec. 31 - women versus Troy, 1 p.m.; men versus Troy, 3 p.m.

Enter to win a Family Fun Pack (four tickets and refreshments) to any 2011 home game except Dec. 22 versus LSU. Send an email to InHouse with “Winter Break Basketball” in the subject line by 5 p.m. Dec. 18. Winners will be selected at random from all responses.
