Awards presented to outstanding departments, staff at President’s Staff Sack Lunch

Outstanding employee and department awards were presented at the Oct. 20 Staff Sack Lunch. President V. Lane Rawlins, left, applauded the honorees.

Charlie Jackson, assistant vice president for facilities, presented the Steve Miller Outstanding Employee award to Peter Palacios, space inventory manager, Facilities, and the outstanding department award to Insurance and Claims, a division of Risk Management, represented by Doug Welch and Becky Vawter

Warren Burggren, provost and vice president for academic affairs, presented the Steve Miller Outstanding Employee award to Kendra Donahue, administrative assistant in biology, and to Raymond Rowell, assistant to the dean in the College of Music. Burggren presented department awards to International Student and Scholarship Services, represented by Dotty Horton, and to Campus Tours and Visitor Experience, represented by Jennifer McClendon.

Elizabeth With, vice president for student affairs, presented the Steve Miller Outstanding Employee award to Lisa Campbell, assistant dean of students at Discovery Park, and Bill McNeace, executive director, Dining Services. With awarded Counseling and Testing Services, represented by Judy McConnell, with the outstanding department award.

Tom Rufer, assistant vice president for auxiliary services, presented the TIPS award to Les St. Clair, University Union facilities manager, for working on retro-fitting all lighting fixture to accommodate energy-saving light bulbs. The expected savings is $157,013.
