Ad campaign touts military friendly environment

Veterans Day Ceremony 2010The university offers top national rankings, a Veterans Center and numerous support services for military veterans. UNT also offers a quality education that can help members of the armed forces earn a college degree and enter civilian life ready to contribute to the Texas economy.

An advertising campaign began the week of Feb. 28 to promote these attributes to the men and women serving at major Texas military bases. The campaign continues through May. Below, billboard advertising.

The campaign reminds veterans that UNT has 250 degree programs, online courses and financial assistance available to make enrollment as accessible as possible.

As with ongoing advertising promotions, military ads have two purposes: to encourage applications and to build the reputation of the state’s fourth largest university.

Plus, UNT has been nationally recognized for its service to veterans:

  • Veterans Center with resources and services designed to help veterans in the university environment
  • Best for Vets in Texas by Military Times EDGE magazine
  • Top military friendly school by GI Jobs
  • Student organizations such as Omega Delta Sigma national fraternity and SALUTE Veterans Honor Society
  • Counseling and Testing Services, family support
  • Financial aid assistance
  • Career Services

Advertising will appear in publications read by veterans at medical facilities and these installations:

  • Fort Hood, Killeen
  • Fort Bliss, El Paso
  • Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio
  • Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio
  • Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio
  • Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls
  • Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene
  • Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Fort Worth
  • Grand Prairie Air Base, Grand Prairie
  • Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Administration Medical Center, Houston
