Honoring College of Education Dean Jerry Thomas

UNT faculty, staff and administrators are invited to attend a reception honoring College of Education Dean Jerry Thomas, who is retiring this summer. The reception is set for 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, in the new University Union Ballroom.

Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served. A brief program, including remarks from President Neal Smatresk and Provost Finley Graves, will begin at 5.

Thomas became dean of the College of Education in 2008, having previously served as professor and chair of the Department of Kinesiology at Iowa State. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees in kinesiology from the University of Alabama and a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science from Furman University.

The UNT College of Education’s Development and External Relations Office is collecting congratulatory messages and anecdotes about the dean to include in a memory book presented at his retirement. Click here to leave a message.
